A letter from David

As we move forward into 2012, our 16th year of business, I wanted to begin the new year by saying how much I deeply appreciate your support over the years.  Entrusting Out-U-Go! with the care of your furry families and homes is a tremendous honor and for that, I want to sincerely thank you.

Sharing your life with pets is truly one of life’s joys.  As I reflect back on the past sixteen years and the early days of Out-U-Go!, I find myself thinking of my co-founder and first pup, Scrap.  Scrap would regularly sleep under my desk and at times, snap at my feet (no question, he was a cattle dog) but I loved him more than anything.  The connection I had with Scrap influenced everything I did.  As a 23 year old kid with an English degree and real responsibility (Scrap and a new business), I knew I had a lot to learn.

Sixteen years later, both my personal world and the furry world of Out-U-Go! have changed immensely.  Despite indomitable toughness Scrap passed away a few years ago.  We will miss him always.  My wife, Summer and I now share our home with a funny, mixed up pooch named Dini and an equally funny and mixed up 5 year old son named Pierson.  Summer actively works in our office to help materialize the vision of Out-U-Go!.  Dini comes to the office everyday to share her love with the entire Out-U-Go! gang.  And my son, Pierson, well, he seems to have reincarnated the tenacity of Scrap.

We’ve worked tirelessly over the years to expand our vision of providing awesome pet care and enriching lives. It is clear to us that happy pets = happy humans.  We believe in spreading happiness!  Today we now have eight Out-U-Go! locations in three states and a wonderful crew of Top Dogs overseeing an equally awesome group of pooch and kitty sitters.  It is through your dedication, trust and loyalty that we’ve been able to grow and mature as we have. We hope to continue expanding our unique brand of Out-U-Go! love to more furry friends and humans in more locations and more states.

We are still learning and growing and I feel as though this journey has only just begun. Our goal has always been to provide awesome pet care for all of our dogs, cats, and critters, and equally awesome, professional care for our human pet parents.  For 2012, we have a whole bunch of fun plans we are looking forward to introducing with the goal of continuing to improve the Out-U-Go! experience.

We are immeasurably thankful and amazed that we are lucky enough to have such a great group of pet parents to work with who allow us to build a business around petting, scratching, walking, and hanging out with an awesome group of dogs and cats.  It really doesn’t get much better than that.

Woof, Meow, & Happy New Year!!!
